Mphasis shares touched a day high of Rs 2,306 on 6 October, the day it announced a £35.4 million contract with Social Security Scotland.
The agreement is worth about £35.4 million. Under it, Mphasis will support and maintain the core benefits case management platform that Social Security Scotland uses.
In plain terms, this is the system behind benefit applications, eligibility decisions and payments, from disability support to heating help.
Mphasis keeps it running. The platform serves around 2 million people across Scotland.
Ashish Devalekar, Executive Vice President and Head of Europe at Mphasis, said the work lets the company keep backing one of the country’s most critical public service platforms.
He said the focus is on continuity and better efficiency. One of the biggest executive branches of the Scottish government is Social Security Scotland.
Sources describes the agreement as a renewal of the partnership, and reports that it helps cut the risk of disruption from major incidents.
Mphasis calls itself an AI-driven technology solutions provider. Devalekar said the project fits its wider push into public sector work, helping governments run secure and reliable digital services.
Shareholders have a couple of other dates to note. A dividend of Rs 62 a share went ex on 8 July, and the board has a meeting scheduled for 5 November to consider financial results.
Mphasis shares closed at Rs 2,298 on NSE, up Rs 0.90 or 0.04%. About 2.87 lakh shares changed hands, and the company’s market value stood near Rs 43,880 crore.
