Fuel-tech startup Nawgati, based in Noida, has raised $2.5 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by seasoned stock market investor Ajay Upadhyaya. 

The round also saw participation from the Deepak Bhagnani Family Office, MeitY Startup Hub, Aamara Capital, and several notable angel investors including Sanjay Sharma (former MD, Accenture), Ashish Sharma and Prithvijit Roy (co-founders of BRIDGEi2i), and Vivek Mathur (former Partner & COO, Elevation Capital).

Previously, Nawgati had received Rs 1 crore in funding from GAIL under its startup support initiative, Pankh, in January last year.

The startup that was featured on Shark Tank India is planning to use the fresh capital to expand its footprint across India, upgrade its digital infrastructure for fleet operators and fuel stations, and kickstart its global expansion efforts.

Founded in 2019 by Vaibhav Kaushik, Aalaap Nair, and Aryan Sisodia, Nawgati aims to modernise India’s fuel distribution ecosystem, which has long faced inefficiencies and a lack of innovation. The company connects fuel stations, fleet operators, and end-users through its proprietary platform, Aaveg, which delivers real-time insights into fuel availability, congestion, fleet movement, and station resource utilisation.

By reducing fuel station wait times and boosting operational transparency, Nawgati enables fuel providers and fleet managers to optimise logistics and meet regulatory standards. Its fleet management system is already operational with Mahanagar Gas and is set to roll out with other fuel companies in the near future.
