The investment will peak on capital expenditure, including building plants and expanding the corporate product portfolio. Currently, Nestle functions nine plants in India and is looking forward to new locations for more manufacturing units building.
Discussing the investment plans of the Indian market in a media round table, he said, “The plan links with the Rs 8,000 crore over the past 60 years after it started to manufacture in this country,” he said. Nestle has been present in India for over 110 years. India’s Nestlé Chairman and Managing Director Suresh Narayanan said that fast-tracking the company’s core business would be a focus area. The blueprint has three pivots, one of which continues the robust growth momentum, the company proceeded in the last 22 quarters,” Narayanan said. Secondly, it needs to be done sustainably. Nestle has taken “significant steps” in that direction, he said. “Thirdly, the part is to leverage growth opportunities, despite plant-based proteins, healthy ageing, vigorous snacking, and leveraging the Indian grains into products for the company.”
Schneider on Nestle India’s business says, “It had maintained steadiness at very high levels” for 22 quarters, which remained “outstanding”. When he was asked about the investment and volume details segment-wise, Narayanan said: “It will be secular across categories.”
In 2021, Nestle India’s revenues rose to Rs 14,709.41 crore. Lastly, it has invested around Rs 700 crore in opening its plant in Sanand to manufacture the Maggi noodle.
