New Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino to Takeover Today, Hires Trusted Adviser

Linda Yaccarino to take over as the new Twitter CEO as Elon Musk steps down.

Linda Yaccarino is all set to take over as the new Twitter CEO on Monday. Elon Musk will step down from the role as investors want him to focus more on Tesla and SpaceX.

In a post on Twitter, Yaccarino said that Musk’s vision inspired her and is excited to transform the business together.

Yaccarino was the former Chairman of Advertising and Partnership at NBC Universal. As per reports, the company generated over $100 billion in ad sales during her tenure.

Joe Benarroch, executive vice president at NBC Universal, has also joined her at Twitter. Joe stated in a memo that he is looking forward to establishing “Twitter 2.0” with his new team.

Musk also hopes to collaborate with Yaccarino to develop the platform into X, the Everything app, similar to China’s WeChat.

Yaccarino oversaw around 2,000 people at NBC Universal. Her team sold over $100 billion in advertising and signed deals with companies including Apple, Snapchat, BuzzFeed, Twitter, and YouTube.

Yaccarino also has a political background. According to sources, she had previously worked with former US President Donald Trump and was named to Trump’s two-year term on the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition.

In 2021, she also teamed with current US President Joe Biden to create a Covid vaccination commercial featuring Pope Francis.
