New Zealand’s health regulator Medsafe has approved the paediatric Pfizer vaccine against Covid-19 for children of age 5 to 12 years, the health ministry said in a statement.

The temporary approval is for two doses of the paediatric Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine, which can be given in at least 21 days break, the statement said. If the cabinet approves the vaccine, the paediatric Pfizer vaccine will be started in New Zealand by the end of January 2022, the health ministry added.
