For the next few years, the defence sector is going to be the largest business area for Reliance Group says its chairman Anil Ambani.

According to him, the Group’s focus will be of becoming a leading manufacturer and supplier of advanced weapon platforms and military hardware for meeting the requirements of the Navy, Indian Air Force and the Army and also mark the company’s presence across the world.

Briefing about the future plans of his group in the defence sector, he said that for private sector there is a huge opportunity in the defence business as at present India imports 70 percent of its requirement (in value terms) and accounted for 14 percent of the global defence imports in 2016.
