HCL Infosystems receives Rs.312 cr tax notice

HCL Technologies to Acquire Some Products of IBM
IT major HCL Technologies first quarter missed the street's mark on all fronts of profit, revenue, and profitability.

HCL Infosystems, has received tax demand notice from GST Commissionerate for Rs.312 crore.

Further, an additional interest and an equivalent amount of penalty has been levied separately under the CENVAT Credit Rules, on the company.

In a filing to BSE, HCL Infosysytems stated, “The company has received on November 7, an order dated October 30 from the Office of the Principal Commissioner, Central Goods and Services Tax Commissionerate, Noida raising demand of Rs 312.34 crore under Rule 14 of the CENVAT Credit Rules..”

Moreover, the company has seeked the legal opinion, which supports the company stand, therefore the company will be filing an appeal before the Competent Authority.
