The Sensex ended in red, down 84.13 points at 27811.84 and the 50- share Nifty slipped 16.90 points down at 8381.10.

TCS, Bajaj Auto, Infosys, Cipla and NTPC were among the top gainers whereas GAIL, Bharti, Vedanta, Tata Steel and BHEL were the major laggards.
