NFT Programming Startup Revise Raises $3.5M Led by AlphaWave

Revise, and the NFT programming layer has raised $3.5 million in a seed round led by AlphaWave Global and 8i. Other key investors in the round include Sandeep Nailwal of Polygon, Scott Lewis of DEFI Pulse, Utsav Somani of AngelList, Bharat Founders Fund and Rahul Chaudhary of Treebo. The funds will be used for recruiting and expansion.

Revise provides a way for developers to program NFTs to interact with applications and data. This transforms NFTs from static images into interactive objects that can react to applications and real-world events. Enable people to build their interactive virtual worlds.

With the Revise SDK in its toolkit, developers can set triggers based on data sources of their choice, whether from application events or public data feed streams from web3 platforms such as Chainlink or web2 exports such as Yahoo.

Then, using the Revise programming layer, the developer tells the NFT how to react to the set triggers. For example, according to Yahoo’s weather data feed, a simple program can make my NFT wear a hat if it’s sunny outside. It is infinitely customizable. Developers can choose their storage tier, be it a Web3 tier (like IPFS) or a Web2 tier (like Amazon S3), based on latency and security needs.

Additionally, Revise adds a layer of governance to storage through its data structure, providing an audit trail for all revisions made to NFTs based on programming, so NFT creators can handle dispute resolution in a trusted and seamless manner.

Applications across industries are adopting NFTs. The main movers so far have been gaming, social media, music, sports and various other spaces. This shift in adoption is moving NFTs from cultural to practical. This means that NFTs go from simple JPEGs to interactive objects.

Revise was co-founded by serial entrepreneurs Anil Dukkitpatty and Raunaq Vaisoha, co-founders of Elemential Labs, a blockchain startup working with key players including NSE, NSDL, CAMS and ICICI Bank.

Raunaq Vaisoha, the co-founder of Revise, said: “As NFTs move from culture to utility, Revise aims to lower the barriers to programming NFTs. With Revise in its toolkit, developers can deliver creative and functional NFTs to their communities.
