State-run hydro power giant NHPC has signed an agreement with PTC India to power the upcoming West Seti and Seti River-6 projects in Nepal, a statement said.

The MoU was signed by NHPC CMD AK Dr Singh and Rajib K Mishra, CMD, PTC India Ltd.

Under the MoU, PTC will purchase contracted capacity from NHPC from the project’s commercial operation date for long-term sale to national utilities/distribution companies/bulk consumers in India and neighbouring countries. It said that PTC India would also endeavour to sell any unbundled capacity on a medium/short-term or power swap basis.
