Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister, has issued a warning to NHAI officials saying that it is a “do or die” for them to achieve the target to build 40 km of roads a day and there will be zero tolerance.
Road Transport, Highways and Shipping Minister Gadkari has told to NHAI officials that “Do or die to achieve the target of building 40 km of roads a day. I am not ready to listen to any excuses. Yes, if you have any problem, you can raise it at right time and right platform.”
During 2015-16 and 2016-17, the rate of construction of National Highways was 16 km and 22 km per day, respectively.
