NLC India shares touched a day high of Rs 230.40 on 28 October, the day its renewable arm won a 300 MW wind project from Gujarat’s GUVNL.
NLC India Renewables Ltd (NIRL), a wholly owned arm of NLC India Ltd, has been named the winning bidder in a wind power tender by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL), the state’s power buying company.
It has received a letter of intent for 300 MW of wind projects that feed into the grid.
MW, or megawatt, measures how much electricity a plant can produce at one time. The total grew in steps.
GUVNL’s tender (Phase XI) asked for 250 MW, with an option to add up to 250 MW more. NIRL won 100 MW outright.
It then accepted a first extra slice of 100 MW and a second of the same size, which takes the total to 300 MW.
A letter of intent is a formal promise to award the work. The contract details come later.
The disclosure carries no project value, power price or deadline. NLC India passed the news to the exchanges under Regulation 30 of SEBI’s disclosure rules.
NLC India, a lignite miner by background, has been building a clean power business. In July, NIRL won a 900 MW solar project from the same buyer.
Next on the calendar is a board meeting on 2 November. Directors will consider quarterly results, a dividend and fund raising.
Shareholders last received Re 0.25 per share, with an ex-date of 22 September 2026.
NLC India shares closed at Rs 227.95 on NSE on Wednesday, down Rs 2.45 or 1.06% from the previous close of Rs 230.40.
The wider market was soft too, with the Nifty 50 closing 0.22% lower. NLC India’s market capitalisation stood near Rs 31,608 crore.
