NTPC Green Energy Ltd added 50 MW of solar power in Rajasthan, with commercial operation beginning at midnight on 2 October 2026.
The update reached stock exchanges on 1 October. In plain terms, the plant stops being a construction site and becomes a working power station.
This 50 MW is the fourth slice of a 300 MW solar block. That block sits inside a 200 MW project designed to supply power round the clock, even after sunset.
Solar panels alone cannot do that, so projects like this usually rely on other sources working alongside them.
Project Sixteen Renewable Power Private Limited owns the plant. It sits under ONGC NTPC Green Private Limited, a joint venture of NTPC Green.
With this addition, the NTPC Green group now runs 11,262.51 MW of capacity. It stood at 11,212.51 MW before the update, so the jump is about 0.45%. Small, yes.
But it is the third solar announcement of its kind in under a week.
On 30 September, the company switched on two more parts of its Kalasar solar project in Bikaner, adding 73.06 MW and 80.88 MW.
Four days earlier, on 26 September, the first 81.34 MW of Kalasar went live. Before that, on 21 September, two wind projects in Gujarat started running, 6.3 MW in Kutch and 50.4 MW in Jamnagar.
Add it up and the group has brought about 285 MW of solar and 57 MW of wind into service in roughly 11 days.
This 50 MW is the smallest of the four solar additions, though it keeps the run going.
The company shared the update through a routine stock exchange disclosure, and the full notice is on the NSE, BSE and company websites. It does not say how much income the new capacity will bring.
