Shares of Ola Electric Mobility Ltd fell 4.75% after touching a dayβs high of Rs 50.55 on 6th November, even though the company announced it had begun deliveries of scooters powered by its first indigenously manufactured battery.
In a filing to the BSE and NSE on Wednesday evening, Ola Electric said it has started customer deliveries of its new S1 Pro+ (5.2kWh) scooter. This model is powered by its first in-house 4680 Bharat Cell battery pack.
The company called it a major milestone in its localisation strategy. It claimed to be the first in India to own both battery-pack and cell manufacturing in full. Ola said the new cell technology, developed at its Bengaluru-based Battery Innovation Centre, offers a higher range, better performance, and improved safety.
An Ola spokesperson said the launch marks a big step toward energy independence. This highlights Indiaβs growing strength in EV and battery technology.
The 5.2kWh battery pack has received ARAI certification under the latest AIS-156 Amendment 4 standards. The S1 Pro+ model features a 13 kW motor. It accelerates from 0 to 40 kmph in 2.1 seconds and offers a claimed range of 320 km.
At 2:57 PM, shares of Ola Electric were trading 4.77% lower at Rs 47.67 on NSE.
