Unseasonal rains on the 6th and 7th of May affected over 9,000 farmers and fishermen in the Palghar district.
The district administration has assessed the damages and sent a relief proposal to the government. A total of 2,124 houses and 4 huts were destroyed, while 2,120 houses were partially damaged.
Crops on 537.68 hectares and fruit crops on 2,162.79 hectares were damaged, affecting over 7,500 farmers.
A relief proposal of Rs 9.23 crore was submitted for affected farmers. For fishermen, 99 boats were partially damaged, and 2 were destroyed — Rs 6.32 lakh has been sought as aid.
