Flipkart said on Thursday that Peeyush Ranjan will join the company as a Senior Vice President and Head of Engineering.

Flipkart in a statement said Ranjan has spent the last nine years in Google at its Mountainview, California headquaters,where most recently he managed Google’s Android One engineering group.

“I am delighted Peeyush will be moving from the Bay Area to Bangalore to play this important role in Flipkart’s further development,” said Flipkart CEO & Co-Founder Sachin Bansal.

Peeyush Ranjan would work with Flipkart Commerce Platform (Head) Mukesh Bansal for the purpose of building strong technology expertise to the company and to support its commitment to excel as a world-class technology company.
