Perplexity is stepping beyond AI search and into full-scale project execution.
The AI startup has introduced “Perplexity Computer,” a new system that combines multiple AI capabilities into a single, task-focused platform. The company said the tool can research, design, code, deploy and manage projects end-to-end.
Unlike traditional tools that rely on one model, Perplexity Computer is built as a multi-model system. It can route tasks across 19 different AI models, assigning each job to the one best suited for it. The platform can run agents in parallel, allowing different models to handle reasoning, coding, writing and other tasks simultaneously.
CEO Aravind Srinivas said the company had been quietly building the system over the past two months. He described it as an orchestration layer that brings together files, tools, memory and models into one coordinated workflow.
The system includes persistent memory, web browsing, file access and hundreds of connectors. Perplexity said it is secure by default and designed to manage multiple ongoing projects at once.
Perplexity Computer will follow a usage-based pricing model. Max subscribers will receive 10,000 credits per month, along with a limited-time 20,000-credit bonus for new and existing users. The product is currently available on the web for Max subscribers, with plans to expand access to Pro and Enterprise users after initial testing.
