Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal will visit Switzerland and Sweden from 9th to 13th of June. His aim is to strengthen trade and investment ties with both countries.

In Bern, Switzerland, Goyal will meet with global CEOs and business leaders to explore ways to deepen bilateral trade. The focus will be on sectors such as pharmaceuticals, life sciences, precision engineering, and high-tech manufacturing.

He will also discuss new opportunities linked to the recently signed India-EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement. This agreement aims to enhance India’s engagement with European Free Trade Association nations.

During the Sweden leg of the visit, Goyal will co-chair the Indo-Swedish Joint Commission for Economic, Industrial and Scientific Cooperation. He will work alongside Sweden’s Minister for Foreign Trade, Benjamin Dousa.

The discussions will cover expanding industrial and technological partnerships, particularly with firms having strong operations or investment interests in India.

Companies such as Ericsson, Volvo Group, IKEA, Sandvik, Alfa Laval, and SAAB are expected to participate in talks. They aim to deepen their collaboration with India.
