PM Modi to Announce Investment Projects Worth Rs 80K Crore in UP Today

Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the third groundbreaking ceremony for 1,406 projects in Lucknow, attracting around Rs 80,000 crore in investment in Uttar Pradesh.


The prime minister is also planning a public event in the village of Paraunkh in Kanpur, where President Ram Nath Kovind will join him later in the day to visit Pathri Mata Mandir. Afterwards, they will visit Dr BR Ambedkar Bhawan and Milan Kendra. PMO issued a statement regarding PM’s visit to Uttar Pradesh.


The statement said that the projects cover agriculture and related industries, IT and electronics, MSMEs, manufacturing, renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, tourism, defence, aerospace, handlooms and textiles.

Top industry leaders scheduled to speak at the event include Adani Group Chairman and Managing Director Gautam Adani, Aditya Birla Group Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla and Hiranandani Group Chairman Niranjan Hiranandani.


The “Ground Breaking Ceremony @3.0” campaign is the Yogi Adityanath 2.0 government’s first major industrial and infrastructure development project. The Prime Minister hosted the inaugural UP Investor Summit on 21-22 February 2018. The state government claims to have signed investment agreements worth Rs 4.64 lakh crore.


The first groundbreaking ceremony was held on July 29, 2018, with the launch of 81 projects worth Rs 61,792 crore. Union Home Minister Amit Shah attended the second groundbreaking ceremony on July 28, 2019, in which 290 projects worth Rs 67,202 crore were launched.
