PM Modi to Hold Three-Day Semiconductor Conference in Bengaluru Today

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will open the three-day Semicon India Conference-2022 in Bengaluru on April 29. The conference aims to be a springboard for India to become a global semiconductor hub. The meeting is the first step in putting India’s semiconductor mission into action.


Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Minister of State for Electronics and IT, said: “SemiconIndia 2022 will be a big step towards realizing PM’s vision of making India an innovation hub for electronics and semiconductors.” The conference will invite renowned experts from industry associations, research institutions, and academia. They will discuss policy, talent, and the government’s role in creating a favourable growth environment for the country’s semiconductor ecosystem.


The conference will help develop a roadmap and semiconductor strategy and engage stakeholders in dialogue on how to achieve, accelerate and enable semiconductor growth in India. The event will highlight the country’s current capabilities, technology trends, market prospects, and R&D investments. It will also showcase entrepreneurial ideas and major projects completed by academic institutions.
