PM Modi to Take Part Virtually in ‘Griha Pravesh’ of 4.5 Lakh PMAY Beneficiaries in MP

PM Modi will virtually participate in the ‘Griha Pravesh’ event of 4.5 lakh beneficiaries of the PMAY-G in Satna district of Madhya Pradesh today.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate virtually in the “Griha Pravesh” event organised for 450,000 Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) beneficiaries in the Satna district of Madhya Pradesh on Saturday.

An official said the “Dhanteras” day activities would start at 3 pm at the BTI venue in the presence of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

“The prime ministers will conduct their ‘griha pravesh’ (the ceremony performed when entering a new home) virtually,” he said.

CM Chouhan had earlier said that the number of homes being built in the state under PMAY has increased from 20,000 to 25,000 to 100,000 a month. The official said that of the 48 lakh houses in rural areas approved by PMAY, 29 lakhs were built for Rs 35,000 crore.

The PMAY (rural) budget has increased by 400% compared to the previous financial year. In the current financial year, Rs 10,000 crore has been provided. He said the centre would provide Rs 6,000 crore, with the state government providing the rest. Under a special provision, 18,342 homes were approved in the Guna and Sheopur districts.

This is Prime Minister Modi’s third public event in the state in more than a month. He released cheetahs imported from Africa in Kuno National Park on September 17 and unveiled the first phase of Ujjain’s “Mahakal Lok” temple corridor on October 11.
