Shares of PNC Infratech Ltd surged 3% on 3 September after the company announced securing a Rs 297 crore tender for the building of Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi.

According to an exchange filing, the company emerged as the lowest (L1) bidder in a tender issued by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) for the development of Varanasi’s Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport. 

The project, worth Rs 297.01 crore excluding GST, involves extending the runway, re-carpeting, strengthening the existing runway, and related works. The contract will be executed within 18 months. The project’s financial bids opened on 2 September 2025, according to the release. 
 
Earlier, in July, the business emerged as an L1 bidder in a tender issued by South Eastern Coalfields. The project is costing Rs 2956.66 crore and needs to be completed within five years.

PNC Infratech reported a 24.99% decrease in net profit to Rs 431.41 crore for the quarter ended June 2025, compared to Rs 575.17 crore in the same period last year. Revenue from operations decreased 34.36% to Rs 1,422.80 crore from Rs 2,167.51 crore.

The company is an infrastructure development and construction firm in India. The corporation specialises in large-scale projects involving highways, bridges, airports, electricity transmission, water supply, and urban infrastructure. 

PNC Infratech, known for its exceptional execution capabilities, has completed several historic projects, including sections of the Yamuna Expressway, the Purvanchal Expressway, and airport runway expansions in Varanasi and Allahabad.

At 2:27 pm, the shares of PNC Infratech were trading 1.84% higher at Rs 309.50 on NSE.
