Polygon Launches Fellowship Programme for Web3 Developers in India

Polygon, the leading platform for Ethereum scaling and infrastructure development, announced on May 18 the launch of a fellowship programme in India in partnership with hackathon organiser DevFolio. The fellowship program will run for 8 weeks, from June to August, and 50 programmers from novice and intermediate backgrounds will participate in workshops and masterclasses to learn how to build Web3, the next version of the Internet.

Web3 proponents say the programme will provide resources and training for emerging coders and developers to pursue innovative and applicable use cases. In addition, to support and mentoring, participants in the programme will receive $1,500 to $3,000 for their projects, announced, reviewed and tested on the last day of the 8-week course.

Researchers in the beginner group will each receive $1,500 to implement their ideas for the product and dApp at the end of the project. A global fellowship program will be launched in India, targeting the country’s 5.8 million-strong developer community.

Dalip Tyagi, Senior Vice President and Head of Developer Relations at Polygon, said: “The demand for blockchain talent is growing exponentially and is expected to continue to grow in the years to come. We want to help developers achieve their dreams, bringing them Come resources to accelerate their journey from ideation to building future Web3 startups. We hope our fellowship program with DevFolio will help Indian developers raise their profile and contribute to the growing Polygon ecosystem with their innovative ideas contribute.”

Polygon has over 19,000 decentralised applications (dApps) with over 135 million unique user addresses and over $5 billion in total value locked (TVL). Earlier this year, Polygon raised $450 million in its first institutional funding round, with investors including SoftBank, Tiger Global, Sequoia Capital India, Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian and Shark Tank Celebrity Dollar’s Kevin O’Leary.
