Porsche’s India Sales Up 22% To 188 Units in January-March Quarter

German sports car maker Porsche said on Tuesday that sales in India rose 22 per cent to 188 vehicles in the first quarter of the calendar year, its best first-quarter performance since 2013. The brand’s SUV range, which includes the Cayenne and Macan, continues to be successful in India and remains the best-selling model in the range, the company said in a statement.

Porsche’s total vehicle sales in fiscal 2021 rose 62 per cent compared to 2020, driving record first-quarter sales, the company said. Porsche India further fueled the positive momentum, the company said, with new vehicle deliveries rising 22 per cent to 188 units in the first quarter of this year compared to the same period in 2021.

Manolito Vujicic, Brand Director, Porsche India, said: “The momentum of the strong performance in 2021 is a 62 per cent increase from the previous year, and that momentum has transferred to the first quarter, and the overall performance has been excellent, and we are all proud of it.” The sales figures continued the positive trend set last year, he added.

In recent months, Porsche India has focused on expanding its business nationwide and further enhancing the customer experience across all regions, the company said. The automaker recently announced the establishment of two new dealerships in Bengaluru and Chennai, accounting for the country’s total number of such facilities.

“We’re excited about the next new product that will once again highlight the brand’s racing heritage,” said Vujicic.
The company says it will further expand its product range with models such as the new 718 Cayman GT4 RS and Cayenne Turbo GT.
