Shares of Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd are trading flat after touching a day’s high of Rs 282.85 on 1st October, even as the company announced that it has been declared the successful bidder under Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) to establish an Inter-State Transmission System for the “Inter-Regional Strengthening between SR Grid and WR Grid” project on a Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer (BOOT) basis.

Power Grid received the Letter of Intent (LoI) for the project on 29th September, 2025. The project includes building 765 kV double-circuit transmission lines across Karnataka and Maharashtra, along with line bays at both ends.

Earlier this week, the company cleared two major infrastructure projects worth Rs 705.51 crore. These aim to boost grid operations and disaster readiness. The approvals were granted by the Committee of Directors on Investment in Projects during a meeting held on 26th September.

The first project, worth Rs 209.68 crore, will establish a VOIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) system across all five regional grids—Northern, North Eastern, Southern, Western, and Eastern. This is set to be completed by 23rd August, 2026, to enhance coordination and efficiency.

The second project, costing Rs 495.83 crore, will procure 20 sets (300 towers) of Emergency Restoration System (ERS). This falls under the Make in India initiative. Scheduled for commissioning by 19th April, 2027, this system will help quickly restore transmission lines during natural disasters or failures. Thus, it will strengthen power supply resilience.

At 12:14 PM, the shares of Power Grid were trading 0.25% higher at Rs 280.95 on NSE.
