All India Power Engineers Federation (AIPEF) has declared that power sector workers will carry out a nationwide protest against privatisation policies on 1st February. According to the statement, NCCOEEE has also decided that the main committee officers of NCCOEEE will meet the Punjab Governor on 1st February and hand over a memorandum against the privatisation of the Chandigarh UT Power Department.
AIPEF Chairman Shailendra Dubey said, “The National Coordination Committee of Electricity Employees & Engineers (NCCOEEE) has called about 1.5 million Power Employees & Engineers which will hold a nationwide protest on 1st of February 2022 at all district headquarters and projects against privatisation policies of Central Government.”

The demands of Power Employees & Engineers are the withdrawal of Electricity Amendment Bill 2021, scraping of privatised profit-making power departments of Union Territories- Chandigarh, Dadra Nagar Haveli Daman & Diu and Puducherry, combining all unbundled power utilities in Kerala and Himachal Pradesh, implementing old pension scheme for all power employees recruited after unbundling of SEBs, regularise all outsourced power employees, Dubey added.
