Shares of Premier Energies Ltd fell 1% after hitting a day’s high of Rs 1,045 on 22nd August, despite the company announcing the commercial operation of its 1.2 GW N-Type G12R solar cell line and the launch of high-efficiency 620 W Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) compliant Topcon solar modules.

Premier Energies stated that it is among the first in India to introduce the G12R N-Type solar cell technology.

The new 620 W modules utilise Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact (TOPCon) architecture. This offers higher power density, improved performance in high temperatures, and enhanced efficiency in low-light conditions. Their rectangular G12R format helps increase string power and reduce system costs. Thus, making them suitable for utility-scale solar parks, commercial setups, and industrial rooftops.

MD and CEO Chiranjeev Saluja called the launch a major milestone for India’s move to high-efficiency solar. He added that these modules provide a future-ready solution to maximise energy output.

The 620 W G12R Topcon modules are designed for high energy yield, especially on space-limited rooftops and large ground-mounted projects. They deliver better conversion efficiency than traditional PERC modules. Moreover, they are designed to withstand India’s extreme weather conditions, including high temperatures, humidity, dust, and strong winds.

These modules aim to meet growing demand, increase returns, and reduce carbon impact.

At 2:27 PM, the shares of Premier Energies were trading 1.05% lower at Rs 1,012 on NSE.
