Joe Biden announces $900 for EV charging stations.

On Wednesday, US President Joe Biden revealed at the Detroit Auto Show that the federal government had approved $900 million in funding for a nationwide network of electric vehicle charging stations. EV chargers will be built throughout 53,000 miles of the nation’s highway system in 34 states and Puerto Rico with the first $900 million of a $1 trillion infrastructure law passed in November.

The initial investment round concentrates on regions near interstates that are no more than 50 miles apart on important corridors. The goal is to provide electric car owners the assurance that they can stop for recharging on lengthy travels.
“In the past, buying an electric automobile required a number of sacrifices. just not right now. It’s all changing because of American inventiveness, engineers, and autoworkers, Biden remarked at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

“I’m happy to report that financing has been approved for the first 35 states, including Michigan, to construct their own charging infrastructure across their state. The long American drive will be entirely electric. “Charging stations would be up and as easy to find as gas stations are now, whether you’re travelling coast to coast along I-10 or on I-75 here in Michigan,” the president said in remarks to a throng of autoworkers and supporters.
