RailTel shares touched a day high of Rs 252.25 on 21 October after a Rs 47.4 crore Haryana order, then slipped 2.42% to Rs 244.45.
The work comes from the Haryana State Electronics Development Corporation, known as HARTRON.
It sent RailTel Corporation of India a Letter of Acceptance, which is a formal go-ahead to start. The deal is worth Rs 47.4 crore including taxes.
In plain terms, the railway PSU will set up computer networks inside government offices across Haryana, Chandigarh and the Delhi NCR.
The technical name is a structured LAN, a wired network that links computers and printers within one building.
The company will supply, install, test and switch on these systems for various state departments.
This is a rate contract. No single big order lands at once. Departments place smaller purchase orders as and when they need a network, and RailTel delivers against each one.
Revenue will therefore arrive in stages rather than in one go. How much the firm books in each year will depend on the orders departments place.
The company has until 18 April 2028 to finish the work.
In its exchange filing on 20 October, RailTel said no promoter, promoter group or related party has any interest in the order. Haryana is not new ground for the firm this year.
In June 2026, it bagged a Rs 82.04 crore contract from Haryana Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation for signalling and telecom work on a new Haryana rail section, due by 27 November 2027.
At 10:43 am, it’s trading at Rs 244.45 on NSE, down by 2.42% from the previous close of Rs 250.50, after falling as low as Rs 243.65, which matches its 52-week low. Over one year, the shares have lost 34.12%.
