On Thursday, the Reserve Bank of India has extended the deadline to exchange pre-2005 currency notes of various denominations that includes Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 for six months till December 31, 2015.
In a press release the bank said, “The Reserve Bank of India has extended the date for the public to exchange their pre-2005 banknotes till December 31, 2015”.
In December 2014, the RBI had set the last date for public to exchange the notes as June end.
