As the Covid-19 cases crossed 1 lakh on Saturday, the registration for the Covid-19 vaccine for kids aged 15 to18 years. Data on the Cowin dashboard showed 3,15,416 registrations for the age group till 11.30 pm on Saturday.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya urged parents to register their eligible children. “If the children are safe, then the future of the country is safe,” he said on Twitter. This began a week after PM Modi’s announcement that the Covid-19 vaccination will start on January 3 for children aged 15 to 18.

PM Modi had also declared that the healthcare and frontline workers would get a booster as a “precaution dose” from 10th January. The dose will also be available for citizens above 60 years of age
