Indian analogue watch startup Rotoris has raised $3 million in a seed funding round as it looks to build a globally recognised luxury watch brand from India. The funding round saw participation from a mix of strategic investors and high-net-worth individuals who share the company’s vision of reviving fine mechanical watchmaking with an Indian identity.

Founded with a focus on handcrafted mechanical and automatic timepieces, Rotoris aims to position itself in the premium and luxury segment by combining traditional horology, modern engineering, and distinctive design aesthetics. Unlike mass-produced smartwatches, the brand caters to watch enthusiasts who value craftsmanship, precision, and heritage.

The company plans to deploy the fresh capital to strengthen product development, expand manufacturing capabilities, and build a global brand presence. Rotoris will also invest in sourcing high-quality components, refining in-house assembly processes, and enhancing quality control to meet international luxury standards.

A portion of the funds will go toward international market expansion, particularly in regions such as Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, where demand for mechanical watches remains strong. The startup also intends to ramp up marketing efforts, collaborate with global distributors, and deepen its direct-to-consumer presence through digital channels.

Rotoris’ long-term ambition is to challenge the perception that luxury mechanical watches can only originate from Switzerland or Europe. By building an end-to-end luxury watch ecosystem in India, the company aims to showcase Indian engineering and design capabilities on the global stage while creating a niche for homegrown premium horology brands.
