Shares of RPSG Ventures Ltd jumped 3% to hit a day’s high of Rs 999.90 on 29th July. This increase came after its subsidiary RPSG Sports Ventures announced the acquisition of a 70% stake in Manchester Originals Limited for GBP 81.21 million (around Rs 860 crore) on 28th July.
The acquisition was completed on 28th July, 2025. Payment will be made over 24 months under a Share Purchase Agreement with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
Manchester Originals, a Manchester-based team representing Lancashire in “The Hundred,” was incorporated in May 2019. They reported a turnover of Β£2.04 million for the year ended January 2024.
RPSG Ventures stated that the deal strengthens its global sports presence. It opens doors for international collaborations, talent development, and enhanced brand visibility.
Alongside the ECB agreement, RPSVPL signed related documents with Manchester Originals, Lancashire County Cricket Club, and others. Manchester Originals is now a subsidiary of RPSVPL and a step-down subsidiary of RPSG Ventures.
The cash deal involved acquiring 70 ordinary shares, representing 70% ownership in Manchester Originals.
At 1:25 PM, the shares of RPSG Ventures were trading 2.84% higher at Rs 978.50 on NSE.
