RRVL Enters General Trade With its Own FMCG Grocery Brands

Reliance Retail has recently started onboarding super stockists and distributors in the past two to three months.

Reliance Retail has entered with its FMGC grocery brand Reliance Fresh, Reliance Smart has internally set a target of Rs 50,00 crore turnover, which will fall under the Reliance Retails consumer brands division.

Following are the grocery products planned to sell pulses and grains, flour, dry fruits, edible oil, idli, dosa batter and snacks, including namkeen, biscuit, sweets, breakfast cereals, oats, muesli, tea, and coffee. The food space product names are Desi Kitchen, Snac Tac, Kaffe, Good Life, Best Farms, Yeah!, Healthy Life, Aw So Yum, and Aarambh. The product which is not included in food space is entered as sanitisers, sanitary pads, diapers, toothpaste and toothbrush, nail enamel, soaps, shower gels, hand wash, face wash, hair oils, lipsticks which include nail clippers and scissors, deodorants, hair accessories, daily essentials. Personal care brands like getting real, Calcident, Glimmer, Slimmer, Graphite and Jive, Safe Lite, Petals, and Mothercare. Also, it includes home care portfolios such as toilet cleaners, floor cleaners, utensil cleaners, glass cleaners, detergents, agarbattis and camphor balls. In homecare, brands hitting the shelf include my home, Enzo, Snug, Shieldz and Samvaad.

Reliance Retail has recently started onboarding super stockists and distributors in the past two to three months. He added that no targets are set, but those will kick in next month. Currently, the margin of Reliance Retail gives super stockist margins at six per cent, and the rest of the FMCG companies give a margin between 2.95-3 per cent.

In the first quarter of 2023, Reliance Retail registered a 114.2 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 2,061 crore compared to the first quarter of 2022, while its EBIDTA increased 97.7 per cent to Rs 3,837 crore. Reliance Retail, the country’s largest cash profit for the quarter, rose by 105.2 per cent to Rs 2,873 crore.
