Shares of Rubicon Research were trading 1% lower on 12 October after the company received 1 observation from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA), following an inspection of its Satara manufacturing facility in Maharashtra.
The inspection took place from October 5 to October 9, 2026. The inspection was conducted without prior notice at the company’s manufacturing unit in Satara.
According to Rubicon Research, the single observation listed in Form 483 is procedural in nature and does not relate to data integrity. The company said it is confident of working with the regulator to complete the evaluation within a reasonable timeframe.
A Form 483 is issued by USFDA inspectors when they identify conditions that may violate regulatory requirements during a facility inspection. It lists the inspectors’ observations and does not represent the regulator’s final decision on whether a facility complies with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
Companies typically submit a response explaining the corrective actions they plan to take. Rubicon Research’s next steps and the regulator’s assessment will be important in determining the inspection’s final outcome.
The company said a successful outcome would mark the first successful unannounced USFDA inspection of its Satara facility. The site’s previous USFDA inspection took place in January 2023, when the company received prior notice.
The Satara inspection would be Rubicon Research’s third successful unannounced USFDA inspection in the financial year 2026-27, following inspections at its Toronto research and development facility in Canada in April 2026 and its Pithampur manufacturing facility in India in July 2026.
Separately, the company’s recently acquired manufacturing facility in East Brunswick, New Jersey, underwent a USFDA inspection in May 2026, shortly before Rubicon Research acquired it in July.
At 12:35 pm, the shares of Rubicon Research were trading 0.06% lower at Rs 1,547.50 on NSE.
