On Thursday, Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal stated that the Indian rupee has outperformed global currencies, supported by the country’s robust foreign exchange reserves.

He met industrial representatives at AURIC to address industry-related issues. He announced plans for a 20,000 sq. ft. skill development centre and a 10,000 sq. ft. startup incubation hub to boost employment and research.

The government aims to develop 100+ industrial hubs nationwide with plug-and-play infrastructure to drive growth. 

Goyal also directed officials to review undeveloped industrial plots and address delays in setting up units.

He assured discussions with Maharashtra CM and MIDC officials on land availability at AURIC and emphasised efforts to provide cheaper electricity through AURIC’s new distribution license.
