S Sridhar has been appointed by the pharmaceutical major Pfizer as its new Managing Director (MD) with immediate effect for a period of five years.

Pfizer Ltd has said in a BSE filing that “The Board of Directors of the company has appointed S Sridhar as the Managing Director of the company, with effect from March 18, 2016 for a period of five years.”

Sridhar who worked as the Chief Financial Officer of the company for seven year, was in May 2013 appointed as the Executive Director on the Board.
