Sachin Tendulkar will serve as UNICEF’s “Goodwill Ambassador” for 20 years, working for the welfare of underprivileged children. “It has been a pleasure working with UNICEF over the years. Great memories of the impact work the team has done. The effort to give wings to children’s dreams has been very satisfying.

Looking forward to our partnership Success in the next phase,” Tendulkar tweeted. The iconic cricketer has long been associated with UNICEF for various reasons. In 2003, he was selected to lead an initiative to raise awareness and promote polio prevention in India.

Later in 2008, he was invited to create and promote hygiene and sanitation in the community and has been doing so for many years. In 2013, he was appointed UNICEF Ambassador for South Asia, advocating for good hygiene and sanitation.

In 2019, he went on a three-day trip to Nepal to raise awareness of UNICEF Nepal’s “Bat for Brain Development” campaign. During his nearly two-year partnership with UNICEF, he has played a vital role in advancing these movements, especially those aimed at providing underprivileged children with a better future.
