Salesforce Doubles Generative AI Fund to $500 Million, Announces AI Cloud

Salesforce committed $500 million towards its fund for generative AI startups.

Enterprise software major, Salesforce has committed $500 million towards its venture capital (VC) fund for generative AI startups. The Generative AI Fund, built to support startups developing “responsible generative AI”, has doubled from its previous value of $250 million.

The company also unveiled AI Cloud, which brings a collection of different GPTs designed to enable real-time generative experiences across the CRM platform under one umbrella.

AI Cloud will also host the core software for AI systems, Large-language Models (LLMs) from providers such as Amazon Web Services, Anthropic and Cohere. Salesforce intends to protect data privacy for organisations that use such solutions by preventing LLMs from retaining sensitive consumer information.

AI Cloud will include all of Salesforce’s products, from workplace-messaging app Slack to data analysis software Tableau. The company said its starter pack will be available for $360,000 annually.

The main component of AI Cloud is Einstein GPT. It is the world’s first AI for CRM that powers over one trillion predictions per week across Salesforce’s applications. Its Trust Layer alleviates client concerns about the risks of generative AI adoption by enabling customers to meet organisational data security and compliance requirements.
