The 30-share BSE Sensex fell 0.60 percent, was down 166.69 points at 27645.15 and the 50-share Nifty slipped 0.75 percent and closed at 8,318.40.

Top gainers in Sensex  were HUL, L&T, Dr Reddy’s Labs, HDFC and ICICI Bank whereas Hindalco, State Bank of India, Sun Pharma, Tata Motors, Maruti were among the losers.
