Skipper Receives Orders Worth Rs 2,570 Crore from BSNL In Rajasthan, Odisha

The company is a manufacturer of telecom, power transmission and distribution, and railway structures

Power company Skipper Limited on December 30 said it had secured a new order worth Rs 2,570 crore from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL).

The contract involves the supply and installation of terrestrial telecommunication towers, the supply of an Infrastructure-as-a-Service Provider (IaaSP), the installation of infrastructure projects and subsequent O&M (Operation and Maintenance). In a statement, Skipper Limited said the projects would be executed under the capex and opex model in Rajasthan and Odisha for 5 years, which can be extended beyond 5 years for villages not covered by 4G saturation projects.

“As part of 4G Saturation Projects, telecom sites will provide 4G connectivity in areas that are still not covered by any mobile communications or currently only have 2G/3G connectivity. These projects will use native 4G stack and will be obliged by the Government of India Fund for Universal Services Provide funding,” it said.

Sajan Kumar Bansal, managing director of Skipper Limited, said the projects would facilitate the provision of various e-government services, banking services, telemedicine, distance education, etc., through mobile broadband and boost employment in rural areas.
