Snap Inc. will release its most advanced hardware yet — lightweight AR glasses called Specs — to the public in 2026.

Unveiled at Augmented World Expo 2025, the see-through smart glasses overlay digital content on the real world for gaming, browsing, streaming, and real-time help.

CEO Evan Spiegel called Specs “the most advanced personal computer in the world,” aiming to blend digital experiences naturally with daily life.

The glasses utilise machine learning to understand their surroundings and support multiplayer games, AI tools, and real-world tasks within your line of sight.

Early features include apps like travel translators, recipe finders, AR music tutorials, and interactive games — all powered by Snap’s upgraded AR platform.

Snap is also rolling out new tools for developers, including speech transcription in 40+ languages, 3D content generation, OpenAI and Gemini integrations, and browser-based AR testing.
