With these additions, SpiceJet’s operational fleet has risen to 35 planes.

Shares of SpiceJet Ltd rose 3% to hit a day’s high of Rs 35.65 on 13th August, after the firm announced it will induct five more Boeing 737s ahead of the winter season.

On 13th August, SpiceJet announced that it has finalised a lease deal for five more Boeing 737 aircraft to boost its fleet for the upcoming winter schedule. Most of these planes are expected to join in October 2025, with a few arriving slightly earlier. They will remain with the airline until May 2026 under damp lease arrangements, serving both the peak winter season and early summer 2026.

This comes after last month’s plan to add another five Boeing 737s on damp lease, bringing the total new additions to 10. The airline is also in advanced talks to lease more aircraft before winter 2025.

Chief Business Officer Debojo Maharshi stated that the move aims to meet the rising travel demand with more choices, improved connectivity, and reliable on-time service.

At 11:10 AM, the shares of SpiceJet were trading 2.10% higher at Rs 35 on NSE.
