Spicejet Now Offers ‘Last Minute’ Ticket Cancellation

With the continuous flow of uncertainty amid the COVID-19 era, SpiceJet now allows its customers avail insurance cover to perform a last-minute ticket cancellation.

This was announced on September 11 in a statement saying that the low-cost airline said fliers could avail of the offer by payment of an extra fee and adding insurance cover during the ticket booking process. SpiceJet has tied up with Liberty General Insurance (LGI) to provide the cover.

The airline makes it clear that in the ‘last minute’ ticket cancellation, customers can perform cancellation through the standard process up to 24 hours before their scheduled departure for the claim to be admissible.

For a flight booking done in advance, passengers can claim a full cancellation fee reimbursement for only up to 90 days, not more. Other airlines such as Indigo provide a similar cover to its passengers. Here too, the conditions are:

– The passenger must be at least three months on the date of travel. The maximum age should be 70 years as on the date of travel.

– Trip Cancellation Extension cover can be claimed if you have cancelled your flight ticket at least one day (24 hours) before the scheduled departure date.

Online travel agency EaseMyTrip also has an offer, launched two years ago, that lets customers avail a cover for cancellations.
