Stellantis to Push EV Production in France

In terms of global vehicle sales in 2021, the firm was the world's fifth-largest automaker.

On Monday, Carlos Tavares, CEO of Stellantis, said that the firm would double the share of electric car models it produces in France. Moreover, he announced the addition of some new models of its Peugeot (OTC: PUGOY) brand would be produced in the carmaker’s Mulhouse plant.

At Paris Motor Show, held on October 17, the CEO of Stellantis said that two electric versions of its 308 sedans and the larger 408 currently available in combustion-engine and hybrid versions would be assembled in Mulhouse.

Stellantis NV is an automobile Manufacturing Corporation formed in 2021 based on a 50–50 cross-border merger between the America-Italian conglomerate Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) and the French PSA Group.

In terms of global vehicle sales in 2021, the firm was the world’s fifth-largest automaker behind Toyota, Volkswagen, Hyundai, and General Motors.
