Sterlite Power Gets Rs 324 Crore Transmission Project

Consumers will now pay an additional 1.24% on their April power bills.

Sterlite Power has got the Nangalbibra-Bongaigaon interstate power transmission project of Rs 324 crore through tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) to develop the L1 bidder,” a company statement stated. The project elements have a new 220/132 kV substation at Nangalbibra and a 130 km of 400kV D/c transmission line connecting Bongaigaon in Assam to Nangalbibra in Meghalaya across the river Brahmaputra, it added.


Sterlite Power has a track record of completing complex projects successfully using technology and innovative ideas. The firm has completed the NER-II project, an inter-state transmission scheme crossing the north-eastern states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura. With this project win, Sterlite Power now has a portfolio of 26 projects in India and Brazil, which has projects under different stages of development and sold projects. The firm is focused on integrating renewable energy sources into the transmission grids.
