Sterlite Tech Hits Upper Circuit on ₹960 Crore Telecom Order

Sterlite Technologies
Sterlite Technologies surges after the company disclosed winning a ₹960 crore telecom order.

Sterlite Technologies shares hit their upper circuit, up 5% to ₹584.90, after the company disclosed winning a ₹960 crore telecom order.

The order is structured as a multi-year supply agreement. Sterlite Technologies will supply optical fibre cables built to the customer’s specifications, with the initial contract running for two years and an option to extend it by another two, if both sides agree.

Separately, execution of the order is scheduled across FY28 and FY29, and that execution window itself carries a further two-year extension clause.

This isn’t an isolated jump either. The stock has climbed more than 12% over the last three trading sessions alone, adding this ₹960 crore win to what was already a substantial order book.

As of the company’s most recent disclosures, Sterlite Technologies’ order book stood at around ₹18,618 crore, close to four times its FY26 revenue, giving it revenue visibility stretched over several years. The broader demand picture also helps explain why this order matters.

Sterlite Technologies manufactures optical fibre and fibre cables, products in growing demand as telecom operators expand fibre-to-the-home networks, data centres scale up, and 5G and 6G infrastructure gets built out across the country.

By the end of Monday’s session, Sterlite Technologies shares closed at ₹584.90, locked at the 5% upper circuit for the day.
