The GIFT Nifty futures, which are an early indicator of the Nifty50 index stocks, were trading higher by 12 points at 25,861, indicating that the domestic benchmark indices are likely to make a positive start on Thursday. 

Earlier on Wednesday, 4 February, the domestic benchmark indices S&P BSE Sensex gained by 78 points or 0.09%, and settled at 83,817, while the Nifty50 traded 0.19% higher or 48 points, closing at 25,776.

Marico: Marico agreed to acquire a 60% stake in Cosmix Wellness, a digital-first functional wellness brand, for ₹375 crore. The acquisition strengthens Marico’s foothold in the premium food and nutrition space, with plans to buy the remaining stake by FY29.

NHPC: NHPC scrapped its proposed joint venture with the Green Energy Development Corporation of Odisha and withdrew its nominee director from PTC India. The company reported an 80% drop in EBITDA, while margins shrank to 9.5% from 44.4%, mainly due to ₹781.45 crore paid toward transmission charges for the Subansiri Lower Project.

Indigo: The Competition Commission of India launched a detailed probe into IndiGo over alleged unfair business practices following flight cancellations that disrupted operations. IndiGo commands over 65% of the domestic aviation market, while Air India and Akasa Air have expanded their market shares to 29.6% and 5.2%, respectively.

Sterlite Technologies: Sterlite Technologies announced that its board will meet on 7 February 2026 to consider fundraising options. The company may raise capital through the issuance of equity shares or convertible securities to promoters.
