The GIFT Nifty futures, which is an early indicator of the Nifty50 index stocks, was trading lower by 29 points at 24,834 indicating that the domestic benchmark indices are likely to make a negative start on Wednesday.
Earlier on Tuesday, 17 June, Domestic benchmark indices S&P BSE Sensex slumped by 213 points or 0.26% and settled at 81,583 while the Nifty50 traded 0.37% lower or 93 points, closing at 24,853.

Mahindra and Mahindra: Mahindra & Mahindra has received approval from the Competition Commission of India (CCI) to acquire a 58.96% stake in commercial vehicle manufacturer SML Isuzu. The Rs 1,554.60 per share deal involves purchasing a 43.96% stake from Sumitomo and a 15% stake from Isuzu Motors. Following the acquisition, M&M will launch an open offer to buy an additional 26% stake.
UGRO Capital: UGRO Capital is set to fully acquire Profectus Capital in an all-cash transaction valued at Rs 1,400 crore. The acquisition will be financed through a combination of recently raised capital and internal accruals. The deal is expected to close within the next 2β3 months.
RailTel Corporation of India: RailTel has secured a Letter of Intent (LOI) from Zoram Electronics Development Corporation (Zenics) for executing the Mizo Fibre Grid Network (MFGN) project. The project is valued at Rs 43.99 crore.
Tata Power: Tata Power Renewable Energy has introduced the “Ghar Ghar Solar” campaign in Bhubaneswar. The initiative aims to make clean energy more accessible by offering rooftop solar systems starting at just Rs 2,499 for 1 kW, targeting widespread adoption across households in Odisha.
Bharat Forge: The company has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with French firm Turgis Gaillard to jointly offer the AAROK UAV in line with the Indian Ministry of Defence’s requirements. AAROK is a Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) class unmanned aerial vehicle engineered to deliver cutting-edge capabilities at relatively low acquisition and operational costs. Fitted with electromagnetic sensors and radar systems, the UAV is designed to monitor enemy movements while maintaining a safe distance from potential threats.
Neuland Laboratories: Neuland Laboratories announced that it has received an administrative warning letter from SEBI concerning a violation of insider trading norms by a designated person within the company. The company emphasized that this matter does not have any material impact on its financials, operations, or ongoing activities.
Electrosteel Castings: The company has announced its plans to shut down its MBF production facility at the Khardah works unit and main plant for 10-12 days from 18 June, starting maintenance work.Β
