The GIFT Nifty futures, which is an early indicator of the Nifty50 index stocks, was trading lower by 35 points at 22,557, indicating that the domestic benchmark indices are likely to make a negative start on Thursday.
Earlier on Wednesday, 7 October, the domestic benchmark indices S&P BSE Sensex slumped by 529 points or 0.59%, and settled at 72,965 while the Nifty50 traded 0.76% lower by 173 points, closing at 22,603.

Tata Power: The company has partnered with Norway-based renewable energy technology company Ocean Sun to introduce its membrane-based floating solar technology in India. As part of the collaboration, the companies will develop a 300-kWp floating solar pilot project at Tata Power’s Mulshi reservoir in Maharashtra.
HCL Technologies: HCL Tech is expanding its presence in South Africa with the launch of a new regional headquarters in Johannesburg. The facility will strengthen the company’s technology innovation and delivery capabilities for enterprises in South Africa and the wider region. The new centre will also house an AI Center of Excellence.
Godrej Properties: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), along with Godrej Properties and RC Group, has announced the first phase of a landscaped bayside promenade at Bandra Bay in Mumbai.
RPP Infra Projects: The company has decided to withdraw from its role as Joint Developer of the proposed Legend 96 residential project. The company cited delays in approvals, financing challenges, proposed security arrangements and changes to the agreed revenue-sharing structure.
